Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

It's that time of year again! Time to support the American Cancer Society by participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Our team had a great time last year, walking through Grand Rapids on a beautiful fall day, and contributing to the largest organized cancer walk in the country. It would be AMAZING if you would participate in this event with us in one of two ways:

1) Walk with us! The walk is a non-competitive 5k, and takes place at 9:00am on October 18th at Calder Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids. We'd love to have you be part of our team!

2) Make a donation to the American Cancer Society! Any donation, small or large, would be of great help to the organization! We all know someone who has been touched be cancer in some way - let's do our part to help with prevention, education, and treatment of this awful disease.

To find out more, join my team, or make a donation, please visit my Making Strides page:

In other news -- it's looking like we will be closing on the house this Friday! More news and pictures to follow!

BUSY!

You know, I kept saying that everything would be so much calmer after the wedding -- I was so WRONG! It seems that everything just keeps getting busier and busier!

We're spending three of the four weekends in September on the East Side of the state. We've spent time with family, attended weddings, and had the opportunity to catch up with some good friends. This past weekend, we got to spend time with both Alison and Noah, and Meg and Matt. We are so lucky to have such great friends - and wish that they lived closer so that we could see them more often!

The house-buying process is moving right along! As far as we know, we're on track to close October 1 -- if not before! I've been wanting to post photos of the house but didn't want to jinx anything while negotiations were still in process! At this point I think it's safe enough to post an exterior photo at least, so here it is! We can't WAIT to finish up with all of the paperwork and hoop-jumping and actually move in!

Labor Day Weekend at South Haven

We had a great long weekend in South Haven celebrating the end of summer. The days were filled with games of washers, kayaking in the new kayak, and teaching the puppies to swim while the nights were filled with bonfires and conversation. We're so lucky to be able to spend time at the lake -- and will sure miss these weekends once the snow begins to fall! We have several busy weekends ahead, with Stacy and Mike's Wedding, Jeff and Kelley's Wedding, a visit to my folks in Tecumseh, and then the big move (the seller's have agreed to make the repairs we asked of them and we are still moving forward!) - so this weekend really was our last summertime weekend in South Haven for 2008.
